National Debating Competition 2005/06
Debaters win in Cape Coast
Sunday, November 13, 2005
The Prempeh College writers and debaters club who really are determined to do
the college another
glory by becoming the National Debaters champions for a second time in three years,
tour Cape Coast this weekend.
They
left the college on Friday and instead of them returning on Wednesday are due to
return on Monday after competing with St Augustine's College on Monday. The debaters
got to Oguaa on Friday and on Saturady morning had an informal debate with Holy Child
Secondary school and later with Adisadel College in the evening.
On Sunday, they had another debate with Aggrey Memorial Secondary. The motion of the
debate which was "Panafest is worst celebrated in Ghana," saw the Amanfoo giving
out all the facts on the ground to be crowned champions in the debate.
The boys had
all the cheers from the Aggrey boys and girls although they were competing away
from home. This was because the "burofo" that were flowing from the lips of our
boys were impeccable. Tomorrow will be the turn of St Augsutine's to also listen to
better argument and english.
This is the year Prempeh is targeting three national trophies -- a quest that Prempeh.org
has named the Operation Tripple Crown. We want to win the national
Independence debating competition, the Milo national football championship and the national
Science & Maths Quiz championship.
