Elijah, the record-breaker
With this in mind, the rest of the students were also determined to outdo him and become the champion of the college and peradventure represent the school next term at the Inter-colleges athletics competitions.
At about 5:30 am, the race began with the students going round the college for eight times on the "circular road." The race was so hot that some of the students started falling along the line as others persevered till the end.
After the eight times race around the four corners of Prempeh College, the defending champion set a new record of 40 minutes with an average of 5 minutes in each round. Batule of Pearson therefore won the cross-country followed by Sabbat of Butler house who took the second position with a time of 55 minutes.
Even as the race was going on, the sports master, Mr. Lartey was also working on the stamina of his new players who will join the likes of Ahmed, Okei, Otoo, Paul Manu to battle for the Milo championship this year.
