Butler House Report 2002/03

Butler has seen an upgrade in cleanliness and morality during our tenure of office. Few problems notwithstanding, this positive change was all by the grace of God and as such we wish to express our profound gratitude to him for the courage, wisdom and protection he granted us in discharging our duties.

All the same the early stages of our work encountered many difficulties but by the love, advice and support of our housemaster Mr. Isaac Agyekum and his colleague Mr. Mike Adjei we have been able to uplift the image of our house. For their effort, we say bravo.

Despite all the difficulties we were able to attain remarkable facilities, which we believe, would be of great help to the house and those who will dwell in ever after. The intention of decorating the house has seen much improvement during our era. This includes proper establishment and arrangement of flowers and lawns around the house and its near surroundings.

Through the assistance given to us by our housemaster, we also purchased (30) thirty plastic chairs for the common room which involved huge sums of money. Of our numerous achievements, the most cherished was the replacement of our malfunctioning television set which was not that easy for us. The purchases of this brand new television set which involved millions of cedis was successfully attained as a result of its concession by the house master and the student body.

In addition to this, the lack of sportsmen in the house has really affected our performance in the inter-houses competitions especially football in which we used to be champions. Briefly we are not claiming all the good things in the school but rather we believe we should receive a fair share of any good thing. For all we know is Butler and nothing else due to its discipline, clean environment and the various eminent personalities it has produced for our country through this noble institution - Prempeh College.

Aside this problem we performed creditably well in the inter-houses athletic competition and as such wish to congratulate the energetic untrained athletes for their loyalty to our noble house, Agyapong Stephen (Stevo), Amo Paul (Clover), Boakye Rudolph (Sly Gee), Nana Yaw Fossu (NY-Fizzle), Azigiri Razark (Raiza) to mention but few and most importantly the house sports captain Appiah Ebenezer (Old Navy). Our last appreciation goes to all the seniors who helped to ensure peace, love and harmony in the house especially Addo Bernard (Bozoow) and the entire house fellowship executives comprising Joshua Lartey, Felix Appiah Kubi and Daniel Adu Boadu. We’ve done our part as prefects and as students. To the continuing students and those yet to come our advice to them is that “A man, who stands for nothing, is offered nothing” so they should be law abiding, respectful, decent in dressing and above all be disciplined.
