Collins deserves Prefect of the Years

Because of his exemplary leadership in Sports, Sports Prefect Collins Amponsah is being tauted as a likely Prefect of the Year for 2005/06.

Collins Amponsah of Freeman, the Sports Prefect, holding his trophy for being the best field athlete at the Ashanti Superzonal athletics. The volleyball and soccer star set a new record in the triple jump.

Collins of Freeman House led the school volleyball team to the Ashati Volleyball finals and lost to Konongo Odumasi.

He is also a key member of the national champion soccer team who will be in the attack in our forthcoming defense of the national football title.

Collins, who also holds the new Ashanti record in tripple jump, received The Best Field Athlete in the 2006 Superzonal Athletics.

Selection of the year's Best Prefect will be very competitive when one considers the outstanding work that the Senior Prefect, Ampong S.O. has done. There is also the outstanding Demitiah William, the Assistant Senior Prefect, who is inspiring all the students of Ashanti in his capacity as the President of the Ashanti Regional Student Representatives Council.

The Class of 2005 selected their Chapel Prefect Obed Appiah of Freeman as Prefect of the Year.
