Prempeh leads Interco after Day 1

Thursday, February 16, 2006

Goloe kept winning on day 1 of interco.
The whole stadium was noisy as people started yelling and cheering their athletes for the 4 x 100 heat race. This race has always decided in times past who wins the super-zonals between Prempeh College and other contenders, such as AMASS.

Though today's 4 x 100 was the heat and not the final, it was no exception. Prempeh's contingent made up of Eric Goloe, Ahmed Deedat Amoako and Collins Amponsah and Fokuo John came first in the 4 x 100 metre race but were closely challenged by the quartet of Tepa Secondary and Kofi Adjei.

The boys later went on to win the 4 x 400 metre race as well.

Sadat also won the 800 metre race with Eric Nyarko placing 2nd.

Eric Goloe and John Fokuo both won their 100m races so they will be heading to the final on Friday. Ahmed, who hurt himself after winning the tripple jump has recovered after receiving treatment.

In the end, Prempeh had 32 points, Tepa had 30 points and St. Hubert 28. Tomorrow determines the winner.
