Eric Goloe, Ghana's fastest youth, who holds the sprinting records, will lead
Prempeh to another championship glory in Obuasi
Two of the college's top athletes have been selected by the Ghana Olympic
Committee (GOC) to represent Ghana on the youth side at the next Commonwealth
Games in Melbourne, Australia.
The athletes Eric Goloe and Atiso Amoroso (who completed last year) are expected to
leave the country on the 20th of February for Togo where the preliminary training
is due to take place. This is because the tartan tracks at the Kumasi Sports stadium
have been removed as a result of the renovation taking place towards the African Cup of Nations
2008.
The event will take place on the 23rd february at the Togolese national
stadium. When our boys perform very well which they will, they will then feature in
Melbourne.
Prempeh's Atiso wins the 1500m gold medal for Ashanti in the 2005 Inter-Regionals Sports festival.
The team will return on the 25th of february from Togo which leaves no doubts
about our top athlete (Eric Goloe) participating in the super zonals athletic
competition on the 27th and 28th of february this year.
This means that Eric Goloe will miss the inter-co this week Thursday and Friday
and the boys have promised that
with or without Goloe, they will lift the trophy.
