Coverage of Interco 2004

This year's Ashanti Inter-Collegiate Sports festival has just kicked off, and Prempeh's zone is on Monday March 8th and 9th This year's Prempeh athletics team is one of the best in recent years and the boys are expected to win it all - again. We present you a live coverage of the proceedings at the Kumasi Sports Stadium

OUR PAST GLORY:

1965 Senior Prefect, Samuel Owusu
Mensah. For his excellence in
athletics, Ghana's First President,
Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah sent
his Minister of Sports (then
Director of Sports), Mr. Ohene
Djan to our campus to crown him "The
Osagyefo Golden Boy." Not only was
this Presidential citation confered
upon him at school, but the President
also caused a national radio show to
be focused on this Prempeh hero.

100m hurdles:
1st heat: 1st - Akrofi Dan (Prempeh)
2nd heat: 1st - Amoakohene (Prempeh)
1500 m: 1st - Steven, 2nd Atiso (both of Prempeh)
Tripple jump: 1st - Amoakohene (Prempeh)
200m: 1st - Owusu Ansah (Prempeh)
400m: 1st - Owusu Ansah (Prempeh)
800m: 1st - Steven (Prempeh), 2nd - Atiso (Prempeh)
Long jump 1st - Amoakohene (Prempeh), 2nd - Edmund (Prempeh)
Pole vault 1st - Lazarus (Prempeh)
4 x 400m relay heat: Prempeh

2nd - KUHIS 33 points

being held on March 8th and 9th.
Zone D is the last zone. The top
2 teams qualify for the Super-
Zonals

Among the schools competing in
Zone D with Prempeh are:

with Kumasi High being our
main challengers.

FINAL SCOREBOARD:
1st - Prempeh 215 points
2nd - KUHIS 96 points
3rd - Bekwai SDA 52 points

Prempeh wins.

Prempeh & Kumasi High march on to the SuperZonals, where they will face these schools.

OWASS won their zone with 221 points because they have only feeble schools in their zone. When their scouts spying on Prempeh today saw how gifted the Prempeh boys are, they panicked!

They have many reasons to be afraid. We will tell you more later.
