OWASS BOYS DISRUPT AMANFOO MEETING
February 13, 2004
During a meeting of the Union of Prempeh College Old Boys & Yaa Asantewaa
Old Girls Associations at Legon campus today, several OWAREANS
just stormed in and disrupted the program.
These guys just came in to disrupt our program when their meeting at a different location on
Legon campus ended. Their reasons for this silly behaviour? They wanted to tell us that
we "have traded academic prowess for sporting excellence" and that the Zonal Science Quiz we
won yesterday was insignificant since no perenial academic superpowers were featured in our Zone.
Ever since we won the prestigious Milo Soccer
tournament for the first time over a week ago, the Santasi
boys have jealously been insulting us for being too sports-minded, in lieu of focusing on academics. Have
they forgotten that the debate in which we beat them falls within the domain of academic measurement?
The envy-filled OWAREANS also oppose the whole idea of a ROYAL PAIR, because the sound of two such
powerful combatant names - PREMPEH and YAA ASANTEWAA - pursuing
any joint ventures is so redolent of the days of yore when armies retreated into sanctuaries out
of fear of being vanquished. They came to remind us that they will never recognize our alliance as legitimate.
Stay tuned for some interesting developments from today's ROYAL PAIR meeting.
