AGYENGO IS LEAVING PREMPEH
June 30, 2004
Coach Agyemang Duah is leaving Prempeh to go and
continue his education at The University College
of Education in Winneba.
Agyengo is a product of the St. James Seminary in the Brong-Ahafo Region, who
came to Prempeh to undertake his practical training as a component of
his Physical Education degree program at the Winneba University.
Agyengo chose Prempeh because he has loved the College ever since his youth.
He said in his interview with prempeh.org that he always wanted to be
a part of the College. His passion for Prempeh is very powerful. He used
his own money to award the winner of the Inter-House Agyengo Cup soccer competition.
When the novel Prempeh soccer league came to a close, again, he used his own cash to reward the
triumphant house as well as the Goal King.
His fondness of Prempeh has astounded everyone at the school. The Headmaster said that considering
that Agyengo is not an oldboy of Prempeh, his dedication and love for the school is very remarkable.
The Headmaster urged Agyengo to come back in two years when he finishes his course at the University.
Agyengo has gladly accepted the offer.
Agyengo can run, do the high jump, throw the javelin, and do almost anything on the field.
Culminating with his
coming, Prempeh has lifted the Milo Soccer Competition
for the first time since its inception. We also won the Ashanti volleyball trophy as well as many others.
Agyengo has introduced a new Prempeh Soccer
League, in which the nine houses play each other over a nine week period. This is obviously an innovative
inter-house program which is the first of its kind in the country and which will go a long way into advancing Prempeh's sports program.
Well done, Agyengo, and good luck to you.
