Mr. Alfred Okyere Darko, Social Studies teacher and OW House master who won Ashanti Best Teacher Award earlier this year,
competed with seasoned and experienced teachers from all walks of lives in the country. The aim of the program held
in the Upper West Region was to select the National Best Teacher. He placed second (first runner up) for the best teacher in the second cycle school category.
Over the years we have seen the participation of teachers from Prempeh College at the regional level.
But this year was the first time the College featured on the regional and national scene.
After going through the preliminaries for the best teacher at the regional level; which he won, Mr. Okyere Darko, was invited for interview as a contestant for the
National Best Teacher Award. Though his expectations were not met, he is proud to have been honored at the national level.
For his prize he took home a certificate of honor, a colors television, a video cassette recorder, a table top fridge and
a solar panel and lamp. The college takes pride in the fact that it was the only prestigious school that surfaced at the
national level.
Congratulations to the master in charge of the most cherished and most coveted House in the whole School -- Opoku Ware -- the House whose
members have won all the honours imaginable. OW is the residence of the two most senior SP's as well as the Senior House Prefect. Congratulations to all members of
this lively house.
