This is the refurbished Prempeh Stadium which served as a training site
for some of the teams of the just ended African Cup of Nations.
Many Amanfoo around the world were surprised to see on Eurosports TV
Prempeh boys in green interacting
with Didier Drogba and the Ivorian team as they trained ahead of their semi-final clash
against Egypt.
In view of the CAN 2008 soccer competition, certain football fields were selected in
the Kumasi Metropolis and renovated to host some
nations during their trainings. Luckily for us, Prempeh College Stadium was not left
out. When prempeh.org paid a visit to the football pitch site, the grass was
verdant and lush and every thing was in place. Stands had also been built to
seat soccer fans who would troop to the place during soccer matches. The
pitch had also been fenced to help prevent people from using it without
authorization. Again dustbins could easily be seen from every corner of the
pitch. Polytank facilities were also in place. There are also showers, which we have showed you previously.
