August 7, 2005: Departing Stars

July 24th, 2005 was the Prempeh College Leavers Day Service - an annual transitional ceremony marking the end of Prempeh student life and the beginning of adulthood in the real world. All the bookworms are prayed for at a special church service at the Osae Assembly Hall. The only thing that will be bigger than this ceremony is the party Prempeh.org is sponsoring for them at Kiravi Nite Club, Kumasi, 10pm (till daybreak) on August 13th, 2005. Gyabaah VY, Gyeabour KO, and the rest of the Class of 2004, along with several Amanfoo are coming to this party. This should compensate them for not being able to play in the prempeh.org soccer league.

The joy started the morning before the leavers day (which was held in the evening), as the form threes wore their college cloth to their various denominational meetings.

The departing students take a picture here. This class is special, even if their prefects were ineffective.

The form threes enjoy their last church service in the evening at the Osae Assembly Hall. Prayers were said for them to come out with flying colours. This particular form 3 class is special. It is the very first class that this current Headmaster accepted to the College.

Francis Kumi of Opoku Ware is seen in his cloth at the last sevice. Where is your college cloth Senior Francis? Have you sold it already? Most of the graduating seniors give away their college cloth on Leaver's Day, and they usually purchase new ones when they get to the universities. Some even sell their college cloth.

Bernard Owusu, Atta Osei and Yaw Gyan in a pose here. Senior Atta Osei, the smallest boy of the College has finally graduated. His twin sister also graduated from YAGSS this year.

Some Amanfoo who helped the school team win the national football championship, Carlos (the shortest in the picture) with Toxic were all footballers. Congratulations to them.

Amoantwi Amoako, the son of Wofa K, our physics teacher who is now the headmaster of KOSS with his friends in a jubilant mood.

Two happy gentlemen

These Serwaa boys are overcome with joy for they are about to leave school. Sundays have been boring for them. They lift their Bibles in the sky.

Quiz contestant Asiamah receives his certificate for being a dedicated member of Assemblies of God. Thank you, Senior Asiamah, for 3 glorious years! We will never forgot the national record you helped set at the National Science & Maths Quiz. See you in the medical school next year.
