July 24, 2005: The beginning of the Challenge

Referee Osei, who is a trainer/physiotherapist with Kessben FC, a first division team in Kumasi. Mr. Lartey recruited him to be the referee for all the matches of the Prempeh league; all his expenses and stipends are borne by this website, of course.

Coach Lartey with the trophy. Everyone loves the trophy; when we visited the Coach at his residence, his wife was holding the trophy tenderly.

At the Prempeh stadium, the Sports Prefect was sent to deliver the trophy to Mr. Lartey's residence, whereupon it would be delivered to the Headmaster later. We overheard one of the players whisper to Mr. Lartey, "no, way! don't take it to the Headmaster's office yet. We need to look at it some more."

Butler boys watching television in their Common Room after demolishing OT House 6-1. The scores were announced on the radio in Kumasi on Monday night, two days after the match. One of the radio presenters who heard his partner announce scores of the Prempeh.org Soccer challenge asked his partner, "how can one house allow another house to score 6 goals against them. Are there no men in the house?" Osei Tutu WILL be okay, because they are confident of getting a talented form one class in September.

While trailing 1-0, Serwah earned this free kick, which should have provided the equaliser.

The midfield was packed by both teams. Both teams defended well, but Goloe overwhelmed Serwah with his speed, helping Ramseyer win 2-0.

The Great Pearson again. The statement by school captain Ahmed that he will NOT be able to score against Pearson is a testament to the greatness of the Pearson team. Look at how relaxed they appear. They know they are great, so they do not fear any of the teams that played today.
