Okyenhene delivering his address. He mentioned that over-population is even a cause of
worry to the earth. "This is the first time in the history of Akyem that a chief has
two children," he said referring to himself. He said producing too many children is
"environmentally unfriendly."
Amanfoo listening
The Chairman, Togbui Afedzi speaking. He said he wanted to come to Prempeh to undertake his 6th Form education but he couldn't
get in. The crowd responded with "oh sorry, sorry ooh, sorry."
Headmaster Akwasi Owusu Achiaw
Our camera's flash failed us in this picture. One of Mr. owusu-Achiaw's predecessors - the great Reuben T. Sackey (Headmaster, 1986-97). Mr. Sackey came to find Prempeh in shambles in the
mid-1980s and he resuscitated the school. When the National Science & Maths Quiz was introduced, he ensured that Prempeh was the first to win it twice.
Just as he was retiring, Prempeh became runners-up in that prestigious competition, making us once again the first school to appear in 3 finals. Unfortunately, Prempeh
has not progressed that far since his departure. How bad we miss him now.
Mr. Koduah (Assst. Headmaster) and Mr. Ofosuhene (Sports master)
This is the one and only Mr. Yakubu, who has served Prempeh for 50 years. He started working in the Prempeh College
pantry in 1955 when President Kufuor was in form 3. Yakubu is now
the head pantry-man at the Prempeh Dining Hall. He started as a casual worker before being
promoted to the pantry and then later made the head pantry-man. He has virtually fed
most Amanfoo including His Excellency the President.
