Akyempemhene delivers his address as Mrs. Danso
whispers to the Headmaster. We see from this view the brown kente cloth used to decorate the
walls of the stage. The Akyempemhene said he was stunned by the power and beauty of the whole program. He admitted to us after
the program that he was expecting something very small but was shocked by what he saw at the Assembly Hall.
Nana Akyempemhene said, "When I was here, what was Mfantsipim? Where was OWASS? Or St. Augustine's? The only school
that had a name in those days was Prempeh. Achimota was well-known then, but they couldn't face us in anything."
The boys seated in the back
...with their ladies seated right in front of them. Our cameraman has become so popular among these girls and they have sent him
several love notes since the inauguration. Senior Desmond Amankwah is the newest additon
to the prempeh.org team; his first task was to operate one of our didgital cameras on this occasion, and what a fantastic job he did.
In doing so he has won admirers aplenty. The Regional Director of Education congratulated him for his hardwork.
The 2nd Assistant Senior Prefect, Asamoah-Adu Y.A. stands in front of the audience as the Chaplain recites the
closing prayer. Asamoah led the students to sing the school anthem as the crowd dispersed.
The contestants are happy to have their letters from prempeh.org and the memorabilia.
Here they happily sing the school anthem before the crowd started disappearing. It was so beautiful.
The royal figure in the hall was the first to leave the hall after the closing prayer, then the singing
of the anthem began. Led by the Assistant S.P., they sang for about 3 minutes then everyone started to walk away.
The YAGSS ladies stood and paid tribute to our anthem. Thanks to the late Uncle Ebo for
writing and composing such a masterpiece. It has been said that there is no lady in Ghana
whose heart could not be won with aid of the Prempeh anthem. It swept the YAGSS ladies off
their feet. They said, "We just loved the school anthem, it touched our hearts. At YAGSS
we do not know the lyrics to our own anthem. But here you guys have it memorized and you
all know how to sing it. The fact that you all got up and sang it before the crowd
dispersed was just too powerful."
