![]() His Majesty is simply captivated by Prempeh's outstanding contribution to the world. He was probably overcome with emotion, just as one senior did when he visited the school around the same time. The Asantehene also unveiled the bust of President Kufuor on the campus.

![]() Just when we thought the late Opoku Ware II was the biggest fan of Prempeh College; this King (Osei Tutu II) may make history as "the greatest backer and benefactor of Prempeh College." He has done so much for the Royal School in the four years that he's been on the throne. Not only has he doled out significant amount of money to the school, and thereby continuing the endless procession kicked off by King Prempeh II, he is also building landmarks. His construction of residence facilities (bungalows) for Prempeh teaching staff are due to start early next year. Little wonder, then, that the boys enthusiasm is at an all-time high. Headmaster Sekyere commended the Asantehene for assisting the school with 100 million cedis for the completion of the Opoku Ware II House.

Perhaps Headmaster Sekyere's best cherished legacy is the rejuvenation of the Prempeh cadet corps. When he came to the school the cadet society was nonfunctional and basically nonexistent, because the interim regime (of Twumasi) that existed before his arrival
had totally dismembered this organization probably because the former Acting headmaster saw the cadet corps as a threat to his totalitarianism. Sekyere therefore had to rebuild in anticipation of the Golden Jubilee, and what a performance they put up in 1999!
Several new kits have been provided them and in a very innovative way, the school's green and gold colors have been integrated into their gear, as can be seen in these photos.
