The King and the President are about to commission new facilities on the ever-inspiring campus.
The King was in awe and overwhelmed by the beauty of the whole Prempeh experience. We think he understood why we say "se wanko Prempeh a, wanko sukuu" ("if one didn't attend Prempeh, then he failed to attend school or get educated"). When he (the King) came to Prempeh form 1, his uncle, the then-Hiahene of Asante, Nana Mensah Bonsu, was troubled by the vast number of royals from other Ghanaian states in the school. He therefore rushed to transfer the little Kwaku Duah to the far-away Sefwhi-Yiawso Secondary School in order not to have him influenced by the many royals in the school at that time. However, any regret harbored by His Majesty for not fully going through the Prempeh ethos and sophistication all through his formative years should be counterweighed by his outstanding merits as Life Patron of the School. How truly pleasant it is to be the head of such dignified fraternity!

President Kufuor commissions the new Science block. Not only do we have a new science block on our rapidly-expanding campus, there is also a Dining Hall Annex, Rev. R.P. Nyarko Square, the new Library, the new Opoku Ware House, a new Recreational Hall built by Headmaster O.D.P. New masters bungalows are currently being built by the Asantehene, Nana Osei Tutu II.
![]() The King is about to commission the Heroes Corner. This visit in December 2001 was not his first to the campus. His first visit was in December 2000 on the occasion of the 51st Speeech Day. He couldn't be present for the Golden Jubilee in '99 because by custom, he had to stay indoors and mourn the death of his immediate predecessor; Kumawuhene deputized for him then. He has since followed the royal tradition by visiting the Kings College yearly.
