The Golden Jubilee Planning Committee wishes to extend its greetings to
you and also, update you about events leading to the Golden Jubilee
Speech and Prize-Giving Day on 4th December, 1999.
You will recall that in May 1998 the launching of the Golden Jubilee
Programme was held at Prempeh College. On the same day, Sod-cutting for
the building of the Opoku Ware II House took place. Both ceremonies
were attended by Amanfoo and friends like you.
In February this year, the Grand Durbar of Amanfoo Paramount Chiefs at
Prempeh College provided the permanent seal of our special relationship
with Nananom.
At all these fora, the building of the Opoku Ware II House as a birthday
present to the School was highlighted.
As of now, about one hundred and twenty million cedis has been raised
through Flat levies, Corporate Support and donations from friends of
Amanfoo.
Sir, we are pleased to inform you that the contract for the ¢600-million
project has been awareded to Messrs CONSAR Limited of Kumasi.
At this point, we all have to explore every avenue using our partnership
to raise additional funds with which to start the first pahse of the
Project.
The Amanfoo Quantity Surveyors among us have stated that we shall need
¢250 million to start the project. It has become very urgent to raise
another ¢100 million because we wish to have a structure in place by the
Speech Day scheduled for December 4, 1999.
We need your assistance in raising funds so that, at least, visitors to
the speech Day in December 1999 would see a concrete evidence of Amanfoo
Solidarity. You may play the role of a facilitator by recommending us
to some of your associates, business partners, contractors and others.
Your response is awaited.
Yours fraternally,
MOSES TETTEH
VICE CHAIRMAN GOLDEN
JUBILEE PLANNING COMMITTEE
